NBA

Production Assistant (2024)

Project Overview

In partnership with the NBA on set of Throw It Down with Bill Walton, our goal was to bring Bill Walton’s very own broadcast show to life. As a production assistant on the show for the NBA App, I played a key role in bringing the Hall of Famer’s unique vision to life. From pre-production planning to live execution, I assisted in coordinating logistics, managing on-set operations, and ensuring a smooth workflow between production teams. My responsibilities included handling talent needs, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining clear communication across departments to keep the show running seamlessly. Working on this project allowed me to gain firsthand experience in live sports broadcasting while contributing to a dynamic and entertaining program that captured Walton’s larger-than-life personality.

Result

The successful execution of Bill Walton’s Throw It Down on the NBA App resulted in a highly engaging and entertaining show that resonated with fans. With smooth production coordination, seamless live broadcasting, and Walton’s signature charisma on full display, the show delivered an unforgettable viewing experience. Viewer engagement was strong, with positive feedback highlighting the show's unique energy and insight. The well-executed production allowed for a polished yet spontaneous atmosphere, capturing the essence of Walton’s personality while maintaining professional broadcast standards. With multiple more shows scheduled, Throw it Down with Bill Walton had been put on hold due to health concerns of the main host. Unfortunately, Bill later passed that summer and we weren’t able to finish the show.
